As an adjunct modality, magnetotherapy is most commonly used for selected bone, joint, and soft-tissue concerns:
- Bone healing: only in selected cases and within a medically directed plan after fracture or surgery.
- Degenerative conditions: for some forms of osteoarthritis as adjunctive symptom support; it is not a replacement for exercise or osteoporosis treatment.
- Chronic joint conditions: selected situations where the main goal is symptom management.
- Soft-tissue concerns: in selected cases as a supportive modality following assessment.
