Physiotherapy service

Kinesiotherapy

Therapeutic exercise to restore function, strength, and correct movement patterns.

01 /Service description

Kinesiotherapy (therapeutic exercise) uses professionally selected and medically indicated movement to restore bodily functions. It is not merely general exercise, but a systematically guided process where specific movements address the neuromuscular and skeletal systems. The goal is to improve movement patterns, muscle balance, and tissue tolerance to load.

02 /Indications & benefits

Who it is for.

Who it is for

This is a cornerstone of rehabilitation for many musculoskeletal conditions. It is indicated for:

  • Post-Operative Patients: rehabilitation following ligament reconstruction (e.g., ACL), arthroscopy, or joint replacement surgeries (endoprosthesis).
  • Post-Injury Recovery: conditions following fractures, sprains, and strains where loss of muscle mass or mobility has occurred.
  • Chronic Conditions: individuals with back pain, osteoarthritis, or recurring issues due to poor posture.
  • Athletes: for a safe Return to Play (RTP) and prevention of re-injury.

Key benefits

Kinesiotherapy is based on physiological principles of tissue adaptation to load (mechanotransduction):

  • Restoration of Muscle Strength and Endurance: gradually reducing the effects of inactivity or pain.
  • Improved Stability and Proprioception: balance and body awareness training reduce the risk of re-injury (e.g., in ankle sprains).
  • Correction of Movement Patterns: improving compensatory movements that can overload joints or soft tissues over time.
  • Increased Range of Motion: achieved through active and passive stretching techniques.
03 /Treatment process

How the treatment works.

Kinesiotherapy requires the active participation of the patient.

  • Functional Assessment: the physiotherapist first evaluates mobility, muscle strength, and movement quality.
  • Individualized Program: a set of exercises is designed, tailored to the specific injury and the patient's capacity.
  • Progression: treatment begins with simple, isolated exercises and gradually progresses to more complex, functional movements and higher loads.
  • Education: the patient learns the correct execution of exercises for independent home practice, which is crucial for long-term rehabilitation success.
