Shockwave therapy

Radial shockwave therapy (RSWT) with deep vibration for chronic musculoskeletal pain and tendinopathies.

01 /Service description

Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT) is a non-invasive method used as part of care for musculoskeletal pain. Our clinic utilizes the advanced MASTERPULS® R-SW100 system, which generates high-energy acoustic waves. These waves are transmitted into the tissue and may influence processes related to pain modulation, circulation, and tissue repair.

We complement this treatment with "Deep Vibration" V-ACTOR® technology, which uses physiological vibrations to relax muscles and support lymphatic drainage as part of an overall care plan.

02 /Indications & benefits

Who it is for.

Who it is for

This therapy is used mainly for chronic musculoskeletal pain and tendinopathies. For symptoms related to calcific tendinopathy, the evidence base is more limited, so indication is assessed individually. The most common conditions treated include:

  • Plantar fasciitis: heel/arch pain; a heel spur may be present, but it is not the same condition.
  • Calcific tendinopathy: selected cases after prior indication assessment.
  • Tendinopathies: Tennis/Golfer's elbow (epicondylitis), Achilles tendinopathy.
  • Myofascial Pain Syndromes: Trigger points within the muscles.

Key benefits

Using the MASTERPULS® device in combination with V-ACTOR® vibration therapy targets the following physiological effects:

  • Metabolic Stimulation: Increasing microcirculation and metabolism in the treated tissue.
  • Calcific tendinopathy: in selected patients, the aim is mainly pain and function management, not guaranteed breakdown of calcium deposits.
  • Muscle Tension Reduction: V-ACTOR® deep vibration helps normalize muscle tone and reduce muscle spasms.
  • Analgesia: Reducing the sensitivity of pain receptors and alleviating chronic pain.
03 /Treatment process

How the treatment works.

The procedure is tailored to the individual and consists of two phases:

  • Preparation: The therapist locates the painful area and applies a coupling gel to ensure the transmission of sound waves.
  • Shockwave Phase: Using the MASTERPULS® probe, therapeutic shockwaves are applied. The patient may feel manageable discomfort; intensity is adjusted in real time to the patient's tolerance.
  • Vibration Phase (V-ACTOR®): Following the shockwave application, the vibration handpiece is used to soothe the tissue, relax muscles, and improve lymphatic flow.
  • Duration: The entire session lasts approximately 10–15 minutes. Typically, a cycle of 3 to 5 treatments at weekly intervals is required.
