Physiotherapy service

Group exercise

Professionally guided group exercise for function and posture.

01 /Service description

Therapeutic Group Exercise is a professionally guided physical activity program conducted under the constant supervision of a physiotherapist or kinesiologist. Unlike general fitness classes, exercises here are selected with a medical purpose: maintaining musculoskeletal functionality, posture correction, and reducing the risk of pain-related problems. Classes are held in small groups, allowing the instructor to provide an individual approach and real-time correction of improper technique, ensuring the safety of all participants.

02 /Indications & benefits

Who it is for.

Who it is for

The program is designed for individuals seeking to exercise in a safe environment tailored to their capabilities. It is particularly suitable for:

  • Seniors: to maintain muscle mass, coordination, and prevent falls (osteoporosis prevention).
  • Individuals with Chronic Issues: those with intermittent back or joint pain who require regular, controlled activity (e.g., "Back School").
  • Sedentary Workers: as a preventive measure against issues caused by prolonged sitting and poor posture.
  • Post-Rehabilitation Patients: individuals who have completed individual physiotherapy and wish to maintain their progress.

Key benefits

Regular participation in professionally supervised exercise may offer physiological and psychological benefits:

  • Professional Supervision: a key advantage is the correction of technique, as improper execution can lead to injury.
  • Maintenance of Mobility and Strength: systematic work on all major muscle groups and joints helps slow down degenerative processes.
  • Social Aspect and Motivation: group dynamics often encourage consistency, which is crucial for long-term health.
  • Posture Improvement: strengthening of deep core stabilizers.
03 /Treatment process

How the treatment works.

The session is structured and typically lasts 45–60 minutes.

  • Warm-up: joint mobilization and raising body temperature with light movement.
  • Main Section: execution of specific exercises for strength, balance, and stabilization. Various props (balls, elastic bands, weights) are used, and exercises are adjusted to the general fitness level of the group.
  • Cool-down: stretching exercises and relaxation techniques to calm the body.
  • Adaptability: if an individual experiences specific pain, the physiotherapist modifies or substitutes the exercise for them.
